First and foremost: The demonstration on 3.10.09 was a success! The nazis couldn’t march their planned route in the old town, weren’t able to get to Neupfarrplatz for their first announcement or the Don Juan monument for their second one!

Over 7000 people from different political and social groups joined the official counter demonstration. Quite a lot, compared to the approximately 110 nazis who announced beforehand that this demo would be the biggest one in Southern Germany… After the official part was over (before the nazis had arrived in Regensburg), several people started blockades on the presumed route of the nazis… Not sure what to expect in this kind of situation from the police etc. A friend of mine and I decided to stick around at some distance and wait what would happen… Shortly afterwards, we realised that a huge blockade near the train station was formed by several hundreds of people to prevent the nazis from starting their march from the beginning… The policed changed their route and guided them somewhere around the old town towards Bismarckplatz. We went further into the old town to see what happened there in the meantime and arrived at Neupfarrplatz… Another group of a hundred blocked the nazis’ way to the second place of announcement. Since the nazi route was changed frequently, it was always a matter of minutes where the next blockade would be set up, so my friends and I walked through the old town in the direction of Arnulfsplatz, and happend to be right in front of the nazi demonstration… We were told that the biggest blocking so far had been set up in Keplerstraße / Fischmarkt and soon afterwards the nazis were trapped in between two crowds blocking their way. They were compelled to stay there and hold their announcement far away from the old town centre without any audience but the counter demonstrators. Around 18:15 they were guided back to the train station, accompanied by the protesters and their shouts against them… Media and policed reported that around 2000 protesters – citizens, youth, antifa etc – participated in the blockings of the nazi route.

Check out the reports on the demo as listed below… I’ve read some versions written on nazi sites (NPD Bayern, Freie Nachrichten Regensburg, Freies Netz Süd etc) and they are completely contradicting the official numbers and all the other descriptions and accounts. They write the usual bullshit about “red terror” and “mobs of do-gooders” etc. I don’t want to link to their crap.
